Here at Wintaura Guitar Works, we meet a lot of people who'd like the chance to work on their own instruments but simply lack the correct tools or even just the space in which to safely work. Lessons can be learned the hard way - we once fixed a broken headstock caused by an attempted string change on a dining room table!

In an effort to ease these frustrations, we're offering up a custom workbench for hire - specifically designed for guitar setup and maintenance.

​

Stocked with specialist tools and supplies from StewMac, D'addario, Crimson Guitars, Guitar&Woods, Servisol, Schatten and Boss, there is everything you need to:

​

• Adjust and measure string height,

• Adjust and measure neck relief via the truss rod,

• Dial in intonation,

• Polish frets,

• Clean and hydrate fretboards,

• Clean and test electronics,

• Clean and playtest  your instrument

​

All while your guitar is held safely in place via a soft touch vice and neck rest while sitting on a foam and cloth covered work bench. No more dropping your guitar while balancing it on your knee, no more chewed up nuts and screws from using the wrong tools and no more commandeering the dining room table!

The work bench and everything on it will entirely yours for the time that you've booked it. There is of course an entire workshop full of all manner of specialist tools and equipment that can be made available with a prior request if you had a specific job in mind, and of course a professional luthier on hand should you need any help or advice!

Half Day (approx 4 hours): £80.00

​

Full Day (approx 7.5 hours): £150.00
